"Radical Entertainment had 90 employees and made the game of 'Scarface'
Company has not disclosed how many were fired."
Activision announced on Thursday (28) closing the studio Radical Entertainment, responsible for the game series "Prototype". According to the magazine "GameInformer", the reason of closing of the studio is in the low sales of the latest title in the series.
"The Radical is a talented studio and was a great partner of Activision," said a spokesman in a statement. "While investment in 'Prototype' was great, the game was not a great commercial appeal. After searching for a better solution, we decided to close the studio was the best option."
Some of the 90 employees who were part of the Radical have been integrated into other studios and offices of Activision, which bought the studio in 2005. The company has not disclosed how many were fired.
In addition to "Prototype", Radical Entertainment was responsible for "Scarface: The World is Yours", "Crash of the Titans" and "The Simpsons: Hit & Run." "Prototype 2" was released in April for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
