ESET NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Smart Security, commonly known as NOD32, are antivirus packages made by the Slovak company ESET. The following operating systems are supported by different ESET products: Microsoft Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, Novell NetWare, Solaris, Windows Mobile platform, and others. ESET NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Smart Security are each sold in two editions, Home Edition and Business Edition. The Business Edition packages add ESET Remote Administrator allowing for server deployment and management, mirroring of threat signature database updates and the ability to install on Microsoft Windows Server operating systems.

AMON
1. Click on AMON
2. Click on Setup
1. Click on the Options tab.
2. Place a tick in Potentially unsafe applications.
1. Click on Actions tab
2. Choose a Radio Button that suits your needs.
3. Click on OK.
1. Click on the Exclusions tab. If you are having issues with a file being continually scanned, you may be pointed to here in order to exclude such a file.
2. Click OK.
DMON
1. Click on DMON.
2. Click on Setup.

1. It is recommended to change the compatibility level to "Higher Efficiency" unless you experience problems with certain applications.
NOTE: With Higher Compatibility mode it is possible that Trojans may slip through IMON.
2. Click on OK.

2. Place a tick in "Log intrusion attempts to the virus log".
3. do NOT click this unless you are advised to, or you are seeing a slow internet connection. This button repairs the LSP chain (Winsock).

4. Click on Scanner> Setup.

NOD32
1. Click on NOD32
2. Click on Run NOD32
1. Click on the Scanning Targets tab.
2. Make sure ONLY your Hard Drives have a RED tick.
In this screenshot I have 4 hard drives, hence you can see 4 red ticks. If you only have 1 hard drive then there should only be 1 red tick present.
PROFILES
1. Click on the Profiles tab.
2. Place a tick in Run this profile in cleaning mode and Use this profile for scanning files/folders from within the context menu.
3. Make sure this Radio Button is checked.
Each profile can have different scanning settings if you so desire, or you can have NOD32 scan exactly the same way in all profiles. NOD32 is just giving you choices, and choices are good.
Its like having many pizzas and with each you can choose a different topping, or you may have a favorite topping that you want on all pizzas.
1. Click on the Setup tab.
2. Place a tick in everything found within Scan box.
3. Place a tick in everything found within ThreatSense scanning options box.
4. A warning box will pop up regarding Advanced Heuristics and the use thereof. Further information can be found by click on the more link.
