The Windows 8 will be a catastrophe for those who like to play on PC and will harm the computer market. Who was it said Gabe Newell, Valve's CEO, producer of games like Half-Life, Left 4 Dead and creator of Steam.

Microsoft's new platform will have its own app store - the Windows 8 Store. And Newell believes it affect similar services already available today.

"The Windows 8 will be a disaster for all of the computers in space. I think we lose some manufacturers, who will end up leaving the market, "said Newell, according to Mashable. "If true, then we need good alternatives to it."

One of the alternatives considered by Valve is the version of Steam for Linux, which is already being developed. Newell believes that what is lacking for the open source system gain more space among consumers is a good supply of games - what would be possible to adapt the service.

The store apps Windows 8 will, somehow, a competitor to Steam. The distribution service games company Newell currently has more than 40 million active users and 2500 titles from different developers.

If the store can offer Microsoft games with the same efficiency of Steam - and integration with Microsoft's own Xbox to become a reality - the service of the Valve can go out very much affected.
