Intel wants that in the future all PCs have at least one control system built by gestures.
The computers are beginning to evolve, and the end result is what Intel calls "perceptual computing." Basically, it is to control a computer using voice commands, facial recognition and also through gestures. Starting this year, Intel will begin to incorporate these three types of control computers through their perceptual computing platform.
The point of all this is to make the use of computers becomes more intuitive improving interaction with us. To accomplish its objectives, the company is already working with other firms.
Along with Nuance, Intel is developing a voice control system that supports 9 languages. It will also incorporate a wizard similar to Siri of Apple .
Creative and Intel working on a 3D camera valued at $ 150. This will be able to detect gestures for a distance of between 15cm and 90cm approximately. A prototype of this camera was introduced at CES 2013 and gave very good impressions.
Finally we face recognition, which can bring the security level of our PC to the clouds. Using a combination of voice recognition and facial recognition Intel says we can create an unbreakable password. 3D Face recognition is highly accurate and can even detect the movements of the muscles of the face, so I can not use photos or videos of the face of the person to try to enter.
The potential for perceptual computing is really great. These are the things we have seen almost all science fiction movies over the past two decades. Backed by a large computer company such as Intel's technology is bound to have a great development.
