AV Test is a German company that is dedicated to antivirus testing and related topics.According to a recent report on this company, the search engine Bing of Microsoft has 5 times more likely to show in their searches malware sites when compared with the popular search engine Google. AV Test tested with several search engines, of course including Google and Bing, for over a year and a half. In about 10.9 million searches, Google results showed a total of 272 websites were infected with viruses or malicious code, while the number of similar sites was shown by Bing 1285.
Several of the sites in question are holders of malware exploiting security vulnerabilities, even if the user has their browser and updated extensions chances of having problems are greatly reduced. The malware usually strike are outdated browsers as well as older versions of a plugin or extension that we have installed.
