RIM on the Brink: now owes more than $ 140 million

2012 has been without doubt the worst year for RIM. Not only will your sales are down a lot, but also had to postpone BlackBerry 10-2013 and even had to sell one of its jets . To all this we must add that recently in a court of San Francisco the company was placed in a worse financial situation.
Amar Thakur, Mformation's lawyer, said that the jury found RIM to pay $ 8 for each of the more than 18 million BlackBerry devices that were connected to the Blackberry Enterprise Server. This makes a total sum of no less than $ 147.2 million.
This problem started 4 years ago when Mformation accused RIM of infringing a patent, it seems, is about remotely controlling wireless devices through a wireless network.
RIM still has not opened his mouth, so we will wait to see what state in the coming days.

Windows Server 2012 will be released in September

Microsoft has confirmed that its management system Windows Server 2012 will be released in September. The company explained that manufacturers receive before the RTM (Release to Manufacturing) that can integrate Windows Server 2012 in their teams ahead of its release.
Toronto is still the home of an important meeting with some of Microsoft's partners and collaborators. The company has been informing its 'partner' on their future plans and timetable for their activities. In that event, the company announced that its highly anticipated Windows 8 arrive in October, confirming speculation about the system.
In addition to Windows 8, another of the products have remained to date of release was Windows Server 2012, server management solution company. As was the case with Windows 8, had speculated on the month to be launched and Microsoft wanted to dispel the mystery surrounding it in Toronto.
The company has confirmed that Windows Server 2012 will be available to customers in September, a month before Windows 8. Thus, customers can acquire the company's solution or update their servers systems before it is on the market the new version of PC operating system from Redmond.
In addition to announcing the availability date of Windows Server 2012, Microsoft has anticipated that manufacturers will release to manufacturing version of the system in the first week of August. This is a version that allows the system to include equipment that will be drawn later to market with Windows Server 2012.
Microsoft also announced an RTM version of Windows 8 for the week of August, so the company's intention is to use the summer for manufacturers to bring about its range of equipment ahead of September and October.

RIM's shareholders re-elected to its board

The shareholders of RIM, the maker of the BlackBerry, have re-elected to the board of the company for its annual meeting, the first led by new CEO Thorsten Heins, who faces an uphill battle to relocate to the company's track.

Heins commented Tuesday that the strategic review of RIM is focused on recovering the firm with a revamped product portfolio with its axis placed on the strengths of the company.

At the same time, the executive has acknowledged that the firm will suffer a decline in average selling prices and a drop in service revenue this year as it tries to sell the BlackBerry 7, which have struggled to compete with iPhones Apple and mobile operating system Android.

The shareholders meeting is an opportunity for investors to make the new management tough questions after a year in which the shares fell almost 80 per cent and the share of the firm in the smartphones market collapsed .

Just last week, Heins, that RIM has promised to make an "efficient machine" announced a delay in the launch of the new generation of BlackBerry 10 until early next year. With this model, the Canadian firm hopes to reverse the decline in market share.

The new head of marketing for the firm, Frank Boulben, has tried to take drama to this delay, saying Monday that the delay will give vendors more time to meet the renewed devices before they reach stores.

RIM suffered its first operating loss in eight years and said it would cut 5,000 jobs, nearly a third of its workforce, it struggles to compete with technology giants the likes of Apple, Google, Samsung and Microsoft.
