Yesterday, EA invited TheGamersHub to play Madden ‘13 for the first time
as they celebrated the Madden cover-boy unveiling in New York – Times
Sq. Another year, a familiar Madden, but looking between the lines,
subtle improvements to the franchise has made this year’s title closer
to an NFL simulator than ever before. Highlighting this year’s Madden
‘13 kick-off festivities was Cam Newton and Calvin Johnson, this year’s
Madden ‘13 cover finalists. With 20 million votes tallied, “Megatron” –
Calvin Johnson rallied his fans as he was announced as the Madden ‘13
cover winner. Unfortunately for Cam Newton, self proclaimed gamer and
hardcore Madden fan, his “Cam-paign” didn’t earn him the prestige of
being on EA’s premiere NFL title.
Madden NFL 13 is an upcoming American football video game based on the National Football League, published by EA Sports and developed by EA Tiburon. A 64-player fan vote tournament to determine the cover athlete began on March 7, 2012. The vote-in round matched up a pair of teammates from each of the 32 NFL teams, the winners of which were seeded in a 32-player bracket. It will succeed Madden NFL 12 as the newest installment in the Madden NFL series. EA's Chief Creative Officer Richard Hilleman said that defense will receive various changes in mechanics and controls, being one of the first known new changes in the game. The cover will feature Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions.
Madden NFL 13 delivers world-class presentation with an all-new living front end, dynamic in-game transitions, a live ticker, and drastically improved usability. Every game has the feel of a nationally televised broadcast with CBS Sports commentators Jim Nantz and Phil Simms calling the action from the virtual 3D booth.
Being that Madden is a competitive title, hardcore players will
appreciate the effort to make ’13 as close to a simulator of real NFL
football as it can possibly be. With Madden being the only NFL featured
football game available, EA has an obligation to improve the title
yearly. It remains to be seen if this year’s iteration of Madden will be
worth indulging if you’ve been on Madden ’13 releases August 28th.
