If you ever had the chance to see the fiction series Fringe, and especially any episodes of seasons 2 and 3, then you may have seen that in a parallel version of our world aircraft are the latest craze. But now the reality imitates fiction, as the Pentagon has in hand a new project in which they are creating a sort of UFO shaped aircraft (or something similar).
Pelican is the name of this aircraft developed by Aeroscraft. This is an aerial vehicle about 70 meters long designed to carry up to 10 tons of cargo over long distances and requires only a fraction of the fuel that is used in aircraft, so it is also a little greener. Of course, the Pentagon also wants to give the Pelican other uses because it has ideas for using them as vehicles for surveillance and reconnaissance.
The current model is only a prototype, but the final version will measure about 135 meters long and can carry about 66 tons of cargo.
