Facebook will invest in the installation of 10,000 km undersea fiber optic

Many think that Facebook is limited to only some servers with user data, but the company of Mark Zuckerberg is increasingly large and is investing large amounts of money on something very important infrastructure. The most concerning new investment that was announced on Thursday: Facebook finance the installation of 10,000 kilometers of undersea fiber optic to improve the quality of the connections in Asia.


The investment will be made ​​in "Asia Pacific Gateway" and will benefit several countries such as Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam and China. At the BBC, an adviser to Facebook said it will be essential to ensure a better connection to the servers, which are in the United States.
Despite the promises of great results and expectations of better connections in the region, the process for installation of 10,000 meters of fiber optic take long. It is estimated that the works will be completed by Time Doctom (the company contracted for the installation and maintenance of the system) in the third month of 2014.
