Quantal Quetzal Ubuntu 12.10 is now available

Windows 8 will come out next week, and the great team behind Ubuntu has decided to launch the new version of this operating system. Quetzal Quantal Ubuntu 12.10 is the new version of this popular Linux distro. For those who's wondering, the Quetzal is a bird native to Central America.

There are several improvements in this version of Ubuntu. First of all, we tried that applications feel more "at home": for example we can now access Gmail directly from the Ubuntu launcher. There is a new search system called Unity that searches both our PC and Internet and also on Amazon.

With this release, Ubuntu aims for users still using Windows XP and invites them to experience something completely new.

Like the other versions, Ubuntu 12.10 is a free operating system and can be downloaded from here .
