In 2011, Apple sued Samsung claiming that the South Korean manufacturer owned 12 products that infringe its patents. The jury agreed with the apple company and the Asian company was forced to pay $ 1 billion to the competitor. But it was not so bad for Samsung, since the products in question represented only 2% of the company's profits.
Even with the fight over patents, the agreement between the companies was of interest to both, since Samsung produces about 26% of the components used in the iPhone. However, the battle also affected Google, since the operating system that runs on devices of South Korea is Android. Smartphones with the search giant's platform represent 60% of the current market, so the competition has become much more difficult for Apple.
