Hearing aids graphene are better than conventional

Graphene, a material just wonderful. Graphene is a material like no other due to a combination of factors: it is extremely hard, very light and its layers are usually very thin. Its use is included in integrated circuits, solar cells and ultracapacitors. Graphene is composed of pure carbon atoms and which are arranged such that recreate regular hexagonal shapes. According to Nokia, graphene is 300 times stronger than steel.

Thanks to its aforementioned properties, researchers Qin Zhou and Alex Zettl of the University of California have found that this material is ideal for use in headphones.

Best headphones diaphragms are those that are light and thin so that air can circulate well and produce vibrations which generate sound. In fact, the thinner the diaphragm, the better the sound quality. The problem with most materials is that they greatly reduce its thickness to become very brittle, but this does not happen to graphene.

The researchers created a 30nm-thick diaphragm and 5mm in diameter, tested it and said the results were excellent, giving a better performance than conventional headphones even.

Hopefully these new creations are offered for sale soon.
