Swumanoid, the Japanese robot could replace the lifeguards

Scientists at the Institute of Technology in Tokyo have been very busy lately Swumanoid in developing a humanoid robot capable of swimming and one day could be the replacement of the lifeguards.
Swumanoid The prototype is able to swim and crawl to 0.64 meters per second, you can swim back and even butterfly swimming style that many regard as the most difficult because it is the most stressful, but being a robot, fatigue is not a problem.
The main objective of the team that is developing the Swumanoid is to one day help save the lives of those who are drowning. Are also expected to be used to collect data and repeating patterns to analyze hundreds of times, helping to refine the techniques of human swimmers.


Maybe in 10 years to see these robots saving people on the beaches around the world.

BBC Olympics, the app to be aware of everything that happens in the Olympics

If you love the sport, the Olympic Games insurance is something you can not miss. Who has won a medal in swimming? What time are the tests of gymnastics? What are the best placed athletes? All that and more will be available in the new app BBC Olympics. There are two versions of the application: one for the UK and another for the rest of the world. Apparently, the only difference is that the UK version allows you to view a live broadcast of events, but the rest are equal.
The price of BBC Olympics is free and is available in Google Play.
