The Torrent Freak obtained copies of images from a presentation by an executive of the RIAA, the main lobbying organization of the American music industry, for people connected to major labels in the country.

Confidential data reveal that 65% of music consumed in the United States is obtained for free, but the vast majority of content comes to people in order offline via external hard drives, CDs burned on a home or pendrives acquaintances.

According to research from the industry, two thirds of all music consumed in the U.S. is obtained for free, while just under 30% of all such content is purchased on p2p sites or storage of files, like the late Megaupload.

Megabox, the new service will offer Dotcom Kit

Kim Dotcom founder of the popular web hosting site is back MegaUpload. No, do not get excited but megaupload does not return back to its founder to launch a new service called Megabox, an alternative Megaupload, but music.

Megabox, el nuevo servicio que ofrecera Kit Dotcom

Dotcom Kim mentioned by his Twitter account: "The major labels MegaBox thought was dead. The artists rejoice. Come and desencadenaré '. With these words MegaBox announces his return with a new music download service that is responsible for connecting the user with the artist, without having to record as intermediaries.

The model is as follows, artists can sell the product directly to consumers by allowing these to obtain 90% of the profits. It was in his Twitter account where he wrote that Megabox was about to see the light, that tweet was accompanied by the image that appears on this note.

So a matter of time so we can see Megabox online and with it the return of Kim Dotcom.

Google would have to sensurar the word 'torrent' and 'RapidShare'

The terms "torrent", "rapidshare" and "megaupload" can not be suggested when a person performs a search on Google. That is, should be eliminated as suggestions. That's what the Supreme Court has ordered the French in the music industry litigation against Google SNEP, whom he accused of helping to implicitly musical copyright infringement not filter those words.

What is the reason? The Supreme Court of France argues that Google provides (indirectly) piracy by not filtering the above terms, so the case was sent to the Court of Appeals which shall make the final decision for Google.

Indeed, in 2010 the trade association of the Recording Industry of France, SNEP, filed a lawsuit against Google, this was a way to force the company to filter out certain terms in their searches, noting that when users write the name an artist, Google added suggestions of words like 'torrent' or 'Rapidshare', facilitating piracy.

This case went to court that gave reason to Google before it reached the Supreme Court ruled that Google is not responsible for web sites that infringe copyright, but can handle it difficult for the public to find pirated content. It also could add more terms to the list of censored words if the appeal does not benefit Google. What do you think?
