Amazon launches new Kindle and Kindle Fire tablet HD

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos was presented in an airplane hangar today to unveil three new Kindle e-readers and Kindle Fire multiple tablets. The new flagship tablet Amazon is an excellent match for the third-generation iPad while the other models solidify the company's position thanks to more powerful hardware and content ecosystem.
Economic Fourth Generation Kindle (U.S. $ 69 available from 14 September)
Although the Kindle Fire is the most expensive tablet style device selling on Amazon, their most basic e-readers are extremely popular, especially the Kindle for $ 79 that launched last year. People interested in cheaper than offered by the company will be happy to hear that your reader base now costs $ 69. Besides the price, this new version of its popular Reader promises a more comfortable reading experience thanks to new fonts, sharper text and pages that turn 15% faster. You can pre-order this latest model today but will be dispatched on Friday September 14.

As expected one of the most prominent devices in today's presentation was the new electric reader Amazon takes to face the Nook Simple Touch released earlier this year. It also allows users to read in the dark without external attachments, has a 25% greater contrast - are whiter whites and blacker blacks - and 62% more pixels for a 212PPi density. This Kindle is available in two versions: one that costs $ 119 and only has Wi-Fi and one with 3G and Whispersync service. Amazon says both are already available for pre-sale and will be dispatched from 1 October.
Refurbished Kindle Fire ($ 159, available from September 14)

This new price offers a faster processor and double the RAM, which translates into a tablet 40 percent faster compared to its predecessor. Bezos spent most of his presentation showing the new Kindle Fire tablet HD. The larger tablet has a thickness of only 8.8 mm, weighs 20 ounces and comes with a 8.9-inch 1920x1200 screen or a reflection 254PPI reduced by 25 percent. The interior has a Texas Instruments OMAP 4470 processor which according Bezos is faster than the Nvidia Tegra 3 processor floating point operations and bandwidth to memory. Among its other features are two stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus, HD front camera, HDMI output, technology W-Fi MIMO two bands (2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz) and 16GB of internal storage. This Kindle Fire 8.9 inch HD has an RRP of $ 299 and will be available from November 20.

Kindle Fire 8.9 inch HD 4G LTE 32GB ($ 499 available from 20 November)
The 32GB model will have connectivity 4G LTE and a price of $ 499 (also available from 20 November) and for $ 50 more per year receive 250MB of data per month, 20GB of cloud storage and $ 10 credit Amazon. An excellent data plan if you are in the U.S.

Creator of Amazon, Jeff Bezos donates $ 2.5 million in favor of gay marriage

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos will make a hefty donation - $ 2.5 million - to lobby for the legalization of gay marriage in the U.S. capital of Washington. The vote on the so-called 'Referendum 74' is scheduled for next November 6, when it will decide the fate of gay couples in the state and the next U.S. president.

Besides Bezos, persons engaged in the technology industry as Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer, both from Microsoft, also made donations to the campaign (U.S. $ 100 000 each). Companies like Google, Facebook and Electronic Arts helped fund the campaign.

In the latest research on the subject, 51% of respondents said they were in favor of gay marriage and 42% said they were against the law.
