Site displays photos of cities in Instagram to show 'real time'

 http://i.imgur.com/THIq0.jpg

a new service uses the Internet photos posted to Instagram to create a "transmission" in real time what is happening in five cities in the world. Called "This Is Now" (this is the time, in free translation), the site (go here) was initially launched in Sao Paulo, New York, London, Sydney and Tokyo.

In each city, the site shows a flow of the latest pictures posted by users of Instagram. Around 12am this Friday (3), for example, to access the stream of St. Paul appeared several pictures of people having lunch and food.

The service uses the geolocation information for users to tell a visual story of the city each time, as the website "Mashable". The moving picture stream from left to right, with the latest image appearing at the top. In the upper right corner of the page you can also see in real time, in English, how many people are accessing the stream at that time.

"The project 'This Is Now' is a visual composition that uses real-time updates of Instagram based on geo-tags from users. The site shows a flow of pictures instantly when they are posted on Instagram and capture the movement of cities, in a fluid story, "says the description of the site.

Users who do not want their photos to appear in the flow can restrict your profile to friends only Instagram. Because the service uses "geo-tags" social network to locate users, not otherwise appear on the site is not to put their location in images.

My Review
There are some positive things about this laptop and some not so good ones.
The best thing is probably that it plays all my discs and DVDs, even those that some DVD players don't want to play. The screen quality is really good and in HD. But, like others mentioned before, the speakers are of an awful quality. As soon as the laptop makes a slight buzzing noice, you cannot hear anything. I use a pair of old headphones I still had and with those the sound quality is excellent (though not much use if more than 1 person wants to watch the dvd).
The longest I have used the laptop without cable is 2.5 hours but that was mostly on stand by. When I played dvds, I never managed to watch a complete film, not even with a fully charged battery.
I noticed that the mains cable comes off very easily, numerous times when I had the laptop on my lap, the cable came out without me noticing.
It has a decent size keybored, useful if you don't have tiny hands!
I am a bit disappointed with the speed, the processor is clearly not the best, the laptop is not that much faster than my 5 year old PC, and I don't do much with it at the moment apart from watching my DVDs and go on FB, Ebay etc.
Also, I really don't like Windows 7 Home Premium, it's not user friendly and very, very basic. Actually, it's not free software at all, after 3 month you have to purchase it! But don't bother, it's rubbish! I had it removed and Windows 7 Professionals installed instead which is much better.
I also find downloading photos from my mobile is a real hassle, it won't accept the installation disc from my mobile phone, I never had difficulties on any other PC before. And since I had my mew software, it has not been a problem any more.
The webcam is also not very good, sometimes it's not working when I skype.
I don't do any games at all, so I cannot comment on it's suitability for that.
Overall, with my new software, I use it a lot, for pleasure and work and it serves me well.

Headphones-only cats

 Aids

No kidding. Hearing aids for cats exist, and are priced at only $1000 dollars a pair. The Meowingtons as they are called, are more expensive than most headsets on the market and are designed for the cat of music producer Deadmau5.
The manufacturing company, Sol Republic, has made only 10 pairs, but public demand increases, and said they will gladly manufacture more. The proceeds will go to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Can these headsets be used by people? Republic Sun says yes, but you need your head is very small.
Personally, I doubt that the product will be successful because most cats hate to be noisy place anything near the head.

RIM considered the possibility of developing Android smartphones

BlackBerry 10

Thorsten Heins, CEO of RIM, has recently released a very interesting detail: company even considered the possibility of neglecting the BlackBerry operating system and start working with another popular platform, Android.
Finally, the idea was scrapped and instead chose to continue developing its own platform, which probably led to the development of BlackBerry 10, which as has been said lately could be offered to other companies making phones .
Returning to the subject, while Android may have saved enough time to RIM as far as development is concerned, Heins believes that Android is a platform-oriented entertainment, the game already media, and serves to provide the user experience look who use BlackBerry, which implies that the BB platform is "more serious" than that developed by Google .
What do you think would have happened if RIM chose to use Android? For now we will see what happens with the BlackBerry exit 10, and time will tell if the company made the right bet.
