Google continues to eliminate services

http://i.imgur.com/BSnJSh3.jpg

Since one of the founders of Google, Larry Page took over as CEO two years ago, many of the services that the firm began offering search engine to be dropped for various reasons. Now it has been announced that another 8 Google services will not be available in a few months.

What are they? For the following: Apps Script API CalDAV, the Building Maker, Cloud Connect, Google Voice for BlackBerry, Shopping API and finally Snapseed Macintosh. But wait, those are seven still missing one, and the truth is that I'll mention it separately because it is a well-used product: Google Reader. It seems that all of them will be retired on July 1.

Google admits that the Reader has its loyal followers, so it's not entirely clear because it removed. For now nor have announced future service that can serve as a replacement for all these, but perhaps one day be thrown. For now at least we can use the Calendar API as replacement CalDAV API, Map Maker as the new Building Maker and Google Cloud Drive as a replacement for Connect.

Today is finally presented the new Samsung Galaxy S IV. While the whole point has his sights on the city of New York, which is where they held the launch event smartphone South Korean giant, others direct their attention to China, where a couple of days have begun to circulate pictures the said mobile telephone.

We have been following the trail to the Galaxy S IV for a long time without a doubt, and at this point, with a few hours to see it officially, probably little mind seeing some leaked pictures of the phone, but still, here should be.

What do these images tell us? Well first of all, the screen is about 5 inches (we can not be 100% sure about it) and the design is quite similar to the S III, but also has an extremely thin bezel have noticed. Of course along with photos was mentioned some specifications, which would include a quad-core processor at 1.8GHz, 2GB of RAM and a PoverVR SGX 544MP GPU.

Soon we already know how much of all this is true and how much is not.

Andy Rubin left to lead the Android project

Since yesterday, Andy Rubin has put aside his work as lead Android project to start a new stage in Google. While Rubin's new role at Google is not yet released, we know that will be replaced by Sundar Pichai, who is currently also responsible for Chrome OS and Android is now also in charge of Android.

In the Google blog, the company's CEO, Larry Page, said that when Rubin joined Google in 2004 had difficulties in developing new mobile software. 9 years later, Google has more than 60 manufacturing partners around the world and have already activated more than 750 million units of Android phones, and besides that have been downloaded more than 25,000 million applications from the store Play.

It was not stated what the reason for Android Rubin leave aside, although we will continue to work on other projects of the search engine company.

Now the manager of Chrome OS and Android will Pichai, surely begin to emerge rumors that both operating systems will look more like each other in future versions and may even coalesce at some point.

Hearing aids graphene are better than conventional

Graphene, a material just wonderful. Graphene is a material like no other due to a combination of factors: it is extremely hard, very light and its layers are usually very thin. Its use is included in integrated circuits, solar cells and ultracapacitors. Graphene is composed of pure carbon atoms and which are arranged such that recreate regular hexagonal shapes. According to Nokia, graphene is 300 times stronger than steel.

Thanks to its aforementioned properties, researchers Qin Zhou and Alex Zettl of the University of California have found that this material is ideal for use in headphones.

Best headphones diaphragms are those that are light and thin so that air can circulate well and produce vibrations which generate sound. In fact, the thinner the diaphragm, the better the sound quality. The problem with most materials is that they greatly reduce its thickness to become very brittle, but this does not happen to graphene.

The researchers created a 30nm-thick diaphragm and 5mm in diameter, tested it and said the results were excellent, giving a better performance than conventional headphones even.

Hopefully these new creations are offered for sale soon.

Not only concert tickets and football games go fast, since so do the event Google I/O. If planning to go to Google I/O this year, then bad luck, because ticket sales already closed because the same were sold out very quickly. Today, any large company that is part of the technology industry, mobile phones or the Internet is able to fill your events so really fast.

The entries in the 2012 edition of the Google I/O sold out in only 30 minutes, and from this year, but failed to break the record, also sold quickly, running out in less than an hour.

Regular attendees had to pay $ 900 to clinch the coveted ticket, while students and the like paid 3 times less, that is $ 300. While it seems very expensive tickets, remember to attend an event of this means we will not return home with empty hands, because Google usually have gifts ready for attendees.

Apple Strikes and mocks the S IV

http://i.imgur.com/YMvt6ux.jpg

Samsung has been very successful in the mobile market in recent years, but success does not come alone. Having a powerful smartphone is not all, propaganda is also important, and indeed the South Korean firm spent more than $ 400 million on ads in 2012. Some of the many business from Samsung, as we know, were derision towards Apple and their loyal fans who are able to stand in line for days to buy the latest addition to the apple. Remember that even took advantage of the failure of the iOS mapping application to mock Apple 6. The day of the presentation of the Galaxy S IV, the apple tried to return the favor, but a bit more serious.

Phil Schiller, Apple's marketing chief, attacked the Android operating system is a platform saying fragmented and old versions are the most used by users, but also said the new S IV integrate an operating system that has a year old.

Schiller is right that Android is an operating system fragmented, but where we can not give points is to say that the OS of S IV is old, as indeed was released just over a month (is version 4.2.2 ). Maybe Android 4.0 has more than one year on the market, but still the differences with the current version are remarkable.

However, the S IV has been well received and sales ravage insurance market as happened with the S III.
