Everyone is aware of the nuclear bomb tests conducted U.S. makes about 7 decades ago, and in fact the same are well documented and available to the general public.
Recently, a New Zealand researcher has found evidence that at that same time tests were run to see the effectiveness of a bomb that was able to create a tsunami. The author Ray Waru, who had access to certain military documents during its investigation, referred to the existence of the Seal project, in which the United States and the United Kingdom worked to create a pump capable of generating tsunamis of about 10 meters high but obviously the idea was that they were even larger.
Some 3700 tests were made in Auckland in 1944. The project, which was led by Professor Thomas Leech, University of Auckland, was discontinued in 1945 because it took huge amounts of explosives to carry out the tests and also because the results were not as expected.
