Facebook hires former Apple chief maps

The world of technology is great, but in this industry there are names that we will see repeated many times, and more than once speak about them to mention different companies. It is normal for a company to hire a former employee of another company to create new products. One of the people who was most affected by the poor performance of the iOS Maps application 6 was Richard Williamson, who was in charge of the project and who reportedly left the block at the end of last year, or perhaps was expelled, we're not entirely sure what is the case. Leaving aside this detail, it seems that Williamson has found work again, as some sources indicate that Bloomberg old maps Apple manager has been hired by Facebook and will work on mobile software division of the company.
Still not much certainty about what will work within Facebook Williamson, since after all the social network does not seem the type of company that would be interested in creating a map application, but their approaches are somewhat different.
What do you think the role of this former Apple employee now part of the Facebook team?
